Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2, 2026

These terms are published as a draft and may be revised after legal review.

These terms govern your use of Moterno. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. They do not limit any mandatory consumer rights you have under Norwegian law.

1. Who we are

Moterno is operated by BLICO AS, organisation number 929 567 234, c/o Sverre Blindheim, Geilåkrane 6, 6050 Valderøya, Norway. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.

2. The service

Moterno lets you keep the history of a vehicle, boat, motorcycle or other maintained machine, build a timeline of service and ownership, take part in a community of enthusiasts, and publish marketplace listings.

The marketplace connects users with each other. Moterno is not a party to any sale, does not inspect items, and is not responsible for the quality, legality or delivery of what is sold, or for payment between users. Check the item and the seller before you buy.

3. Accounts and age

You must be at least 16 years old, or have your guardian's consent, to use Moterno. Give accurate information, keep your password and recovery codes safe, and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may not open extra accounts to evade a suspension or a limit.

4. Your content

You own what you upload: records, photos, documents, stories, comments and listings. You grant Moterno a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process and display that content to the extent needed to run the service and according to the visibility you choose (private, followers or public). The licence ends when you delete the content or the account, except for copies that other users have lawfully received through a transfer you accepted, and for backups kept for a limited period.

You must have the right to post what you upload. Do not post anything unlawful, infringing, misleading, harassing or hateful, malware, or other people's personal data without a legal basis. Do not use the service to defraud or to scrape it at scale. We may remove content or restrict accounts that breach these terms, and we will normally tell you why.

5. Premium subscription

Premium is a paid monthly subscription handled by Stripe. The price is shown at checkout before you confirm. It renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the billing portal; Premium then stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and no further charge is made.

Under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven) you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal on a distance purchase. For a digital service you can start using immediately, you agree at checkout that delivery starts at once, and if you withdraw you pay for the part already used. Contact us to withdraw. Free features remain available if Premium ends, within the limits of the free plan.

6. AI features

Some features use AI to draft or suggest content, for example reading a document or photo, or translating a story. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Always review it before you save or publish it; you are responsible for what you save. We do not guarantee accuracy. Content you send to an AI feature is processed by our AI provider as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Vehicle register lookups

For Norwegian registration numbers, Moterno can fetch technical vehicle data from Statens vegvesen when you ask for it. The data is public vehicle data, shown as received, and Moterno does not request owner information. We process it based on our legitimate interest in letting you create accurate records. We do not guarantee that it is correct, complete or current; check it against your registration certificate.

8. Liability

Moterno is provided as is and as available. Records, valuations and reminders are aids, not professional advice, and you remain responsible for maintenance, inspections and legal compliance for your vehicle. To the extent permitted by law, BLICO AS is not liable for indirect loss, lost profit or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any right you cannot waive as a consumer.

9. Suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, or if required by law, and we will normally give notice. Billing, legal and fraud-prevention records may be kept as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when features or law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will give reasonable notice of material changes, for example in the service or by email. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using Moterno and delete your account.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. As a consumer you may bring a dispute before the courts of your home country where mandatory law gives you that right, and you can use the Norwegian Consumer Authority and the EU online dispute resolution platform. Otherwise disputes go to the Norwegian courts.
